portland oregon garden

Whether you live in Portland, OR or are just here for a few days, here is a visit recommendation for you: the Oregon Garden. Located in Silverton, OR, you’re gonna need a car to go there (just so you know…). It’s about an hour drive from Portland and it will cost you between $8 and $14 per person, depending on the season. Once you arrive there, here is what you’re in for: 80-acre botanical garden – divided in more than 20 specialty gardens – that you can walk through or visit using their guided tram tour (from April to October). Oh, an you can bring your pets too!

It’s obviously better to go there on a non-rainy day (unless you really like rain!).
Here come 2 tips for you:

– start with the guided tram tour to have an overview of the site and get info on each garden (it’s around 30min total) and then go walking around the gardens you want to look at more in depth. You can also hop on and off the tram as you want.

– stop at the resort (you can access it directly from the garden). We went there to eat and have a drink in the middle of our visit and it was a lovely break.

Finally, they also have a Christmas market in December and we are definitely planning on going back there at the end of the year!

Hope you’ll like it as much as we did! Let me know if you have any question about it.
